Amongst the countless blessings which Almighty ALLAH has bestowed upon the Muslims is that He has preserved their religion for them and provided the appropriate means for Islam to be safeguarded and preserved, in that He has raised erudite scholars through whom the Sunnah of the Noble Prophet, Muhammad ibn Abdullaah صلّی الله علیهِ وآلهِ وسلم, the seal of the prophets صلّی الله علیهِ وآلهِ وسلم, has been preserved. Thus the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet صلّی الله علیهِ وآلهِ وسلم provide evidence against mankind. One of the scholars through whom Allah preserved the Sunnah was Imaam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (Rahimahullah), and one of the books that he wrote to preserve the Sunnah is al-Musnad, which is one of the major collections of the noble Sunnah.

What is intended by the term seerah is the history of the Messenger (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and this is the path that the Messenger (May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to traverse upon from the time he was dispatched (as a Prophet) until Allah caused him to die.

“Generation after generation was destroyed by wars because a man would seek the aid of his tribe, even if he was upon falsehood and the likes of that from trivial causes and despicable motives.
So Islam came to erase all of these loathsome outward practices in their lives when it made them equal with regards to the rights, and it made their slogans of allegiance to, “al-Islam”. And Islam made them excel over one another due to taqwa (righteousness) and obedience to Allah. So there is no excellence for an Arab over a non-Arab, nor is there any excellence for a non-Arab over an Arab, nor for a white person over a black one, nor for a black person over a white one, except due to taqwa.”
– From the introduction of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Salam Ibn Burjis

The Ummah of Islam is in dire need of being in agreement and uniting its ranks and mending its rifts and being far removed from bigoted partisanship and hurting one another with words and accusing the intentions, as long as all sides are under the umbrella of Ahl us Sunnah wa al-Jama’ah who traverse upon the way of the Salaf of the Ummah, the people of the virtuous generations, they follow the Sunnah and they do not innovate.
